Not fully understanding what this meant until his teenage years. More on this later.At about age ten, the tattoos appeared, and his life was uprooted. At this time, Sirens were either coveted or killed, hunted for their connections to the prized Vaults. Rhys was taken from everything he knew, hidden, like a bird in a cage. Never allowed out of his parents’ sight and told to never reveal this power to anyone.Even though Rhys' parents kept him close, they weren't exactly present. More often than not, he spent time on his computer playing games and learning code. Most of his home schooling was done on the computer and nanny bots did most of his parental care. Which is why he has such a fondness/protectiveness over robots in general.Even after leaving his parents at 18, Rhys hid his powers intently.Gaining his freedom, Rhys indulged in everything he ever missed. He went to college on Eden-4 where he met Vaughn, his roommate and soon to be bestie for life. Rhys started his transition shortly before starting college and Vaughn was an integral piece of validation for him during the process. As mentioned before, Rhys went a little wild with his new freedom and partied, a LOT. Regardless of being nerdy, he could talk his way into most parties. **As mentioned in Tftbl.Vaughn was also the only person who ever knew about his Siren powers back then.How Rhys lost his arm: No, he didn’t replace it just because he wanted a cool arm. Though he probably would have anyway. While climbing the corporate ladder in Hyperion, Rhys managed a section of Eridium mining operations. Sometimes, this meant going planet-side to evaluate the facilities.One of these trips, there was a major collapse within the mine. Rhys’ arm was crushed in the accident. Lucky for him, he had good insurance.The ECHOeye: He totally just had that installed cause it’s cool.
